Dr Elsa Pintor is an assistant professor at the University Miguel Hernandez of Elche (UMH), Alicante, in the southeast of Spain, member of the researcher group in Global Health, UMH, and researcher in the Biomedical Research Networking Centre for Epidemiology and Public Health, CIBERESP, Madrid, Spain (CIBERESP is the public research consortium set up by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII)).
Her research is focused on Pharmaceutical Care Services, mainly in the field of adherence but also in other intervention and evidence-based pharmaceutical care studies. ORCID number: 0000-0003-0937-5725. She has authored over 70 national and international journal papers and conferences, posters and book chapters, and received several research awards. She has taught at the pharmacy degree of UMH as well as PhD studies and master´s degrees for community pharmacists and other healthcare professionals. Responsible for the design and direction of a master’s course in Pharmaceutical Care and Management of Community Pharmacy, UMH.
She used to collaborate with public and private organisations in workshops, training courses, roundtables and webinars, and worked as a consultant for several pharmaceutical companies. A member of the Scientific Committee of the Spanish Society of Community Pharmacy, SEFAC, Spain. Academic management: Vice dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the UMH from 2007-2012, responsible of the adaptation at her university of the Pharmacy Degree to the European Higher Education Area in accordance with the Bologna Agreement. Internationalisation: AMR Regional Champion for Europe in the FIP-GRIP-RB Partnership; member of the European Innovation Partnership of Active and Healthy Aging, A1, of the European Commission; collaborator of Medscape Education, the leading online global website for physicians and healthcare professionals worldwide.
